DID YOU KNOW?

In the 2008-2009 school year, we had over 318 referral families to the Clothes Closet.  We helped clothe 1074 children from our community.

Which means….

• We gave out over 5370 pairs of socks.

• We gave out over 5370 pairs of underwear.

• We gave out 1368 new uniforms (tops and bottoms) AND over 4000 non-uniform outfits!

• We gave out over 1000 winter coats / jackets

• AND this does not include the parents!

Who We Are…

• We are a Carrollton-Farmers Branch PTA Council community service project that provides gently used clothing to families in need

What We Provide…

• Coats or Jackets for each immediate member of the family

• New Socks, Underwear, New/Gently Used Uniforms (children only) and Clothing (all family members)

• Shoes are available for school age children

How We Operate…

We are supported by the local PTAs, people, businesses, civic organizations and churches in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Community

Monetary donations Clothing donations Sock and Underwear Drives Used Coat/Jacket Drives Volunteer Hours (No one is paid for any work) How is a Family Referred? Counselor, Teacher, Principal referrals CIS referrals (Communities in School)

We follow strict guidelines…

• Clients are only allowed to visit twice a school year, no more than two years in a row,

• Clients have 1 hour to select clothing and must follow limits on amount of clothing allowed per person,

• All clients MUST have a referral form from an authorized school district agent.

How YOU Can Help:

• Collect, Fold & Sort Clothing

• Collect Monetary Donations

• Donate Gently Used Clothing, especially school uniforms

• Donate new Socks & Underwear

• Promote School-Wide New Sock & Underwear Drives

• Organize a Coat/Sock/Underwear Drive at a local business or other organization in Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Dallas, Addison, Coppell, Irving or Las Colinas

• Serve as a translator on workdays
